{"id":489,"date":"2007-09-08T19:54:47","date_gmt":"2007-09-08T18:54:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.evertdekker.com\/wp\/?p=489"},"modified":"2023-01-09T11:47:44","modified_gmt":"2023-01-09T10:47:44","slug":"nixie-clock","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/evertdekker.com\/wp\/?p=489","title":{"rendered":"Nixie Clock"},"content":{"rendered":"<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Inspired by the Nixie clock in &#8220;Nutz &amp; Volts&#8221; magazine from October 2006 I like to make my own.<br \/>\nIn the original design they used the xtal from the cpu for the clock\u00a0 source, in my design we use a Ds-1307 realtime clock that synchronize every hour with a NTP server on the internet. This is accomplished through the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.evertdekker.com\/wp\/?cat=18\">Joshua bus<\/a> and the TCP\/IP gateway. Now we have always the exact time. The function of the clock are controlled with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.evertdekker.com\/wp\/?cat=18\">Joshua bus<\/a>, or with the buttons on the back side.<\/p>\n<p>After some modifications from the 170V booster the clock is now working fine. The booster voltage was dropping below 100V when there was more then 1 tube connected. With the help of some nixie <a href=\"http:\/\/www.circuitsonline.net\/forum\/view\/44092\">experts<\/a> we changed the coil in a larger one, 170V is now ok.<br \/>\nDesigned the top and bottom plate with front panel designer from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.schaeffer-ag.de\/index.php?lang=en&amp;option=com_frontpage&amp;Itemid=205\">Schaeffer<\/a> and ordered the panels.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"n2_ss_slider_publish__option_code\" dir=\"ltr\" data-mode=\"id\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Inspired by the Nixie clock in &#8220;Nutz &amp; Volts&#8221; magazine from October 2006 I like to make my own.
